Those wishing to audition for Violetta, Alfredo, or Germont should be prepared to present the following:

For Other Traviata Roles:
Please prepare contrasting selections from operas by Giuseppe Verdi or Italian standard repertoire.
NOTE: Singers may also audition for future main stage productions: All roles standard repertoire
APPLICATION PROCESS for the Live Auditions:

On-Stage AUDITIONS to take place by invitation
- April 17, 2024 | 4:30pm-9:30pm
- Invited in-person auditions will be held onstage at the DeYor Performing Arts Center and will be scheduled by appointment.
- Once invited to audition in person, a non-refundable audition fee of $30 is due at the time of appointment reservation. This fee includes an on site accompanist.
- Those invited to audition in-person should be prepared to travel to Youngstown, Ohio.

OWR encourages performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and body types to audition. All principal and supporting role contracts are paid. Selected chorus ensemble leader positions are paid.
OWR EMERGING ARTISTS
EMERGING ARTISTS OF THE 2023-2024 SEASON:
- Soprano, Mezzo, Tenor, Baritone, and Bass-Baritone voice types
- Main Stage Roles: Mercédès, Le Remendado, Le Dancaïre, Frasquita
- Emerging Artist Roles: Carmen, Don José, Escamillo, Micaela, Frasquita
EMERGING ARTISTS WILL BE FEATURED IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMMING FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES:
- A reduced “mini main stage” presentation based on our upcoming production of Carmen on November 17, 2023
- A touring children’s opera in Spring 2024
- Possible other community outreach performances throughout the season
AUDITION REPERTOIRE FOR OWR EMERGING ARTISTS:
- On aria/art song in English
- One aria in French (if possible). Emerging Artist applicants who wish to be considered for the available roles and/or covers in Carmen must include an aria in French
- At least one additional piece from your repertoire
